Privacy Policy
Last updated: [date to be set at publication]
Mental Health & Me (ABN 66 564 669 627), "we", "us", or "our", respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal information. This policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect personal information, in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).
1. What we collect
We collect personal information that you choose to give us, including:
- Your name and contact details (email address, and phone number if you provide it).
- Your child's approximate age and your general location, where you provide them to help us assess fit for a programme.
- Anything you choose to tell us in the "what would you like us to know" field of our register-interest form, or in any email or message you send us.
We collect only what we need to respond to your enquiry and to run our programmes. You do not need to give us a diagnosis or any clinical records to register your interest, and we ask that you do not send sensitive health information through the website form.
We may also collect limited technical information automatically when you visit the site (such as your browser type and general usage), through standard web hosting logs. We do not use this to identify you personally.
2. How we use your information
We use your personal information to:
- Contact you about the programme you registered interest in, including details, timing, and cost.
- Answer your questions and provide the education and support you ask for.
- Improve our programmes and our website.
- Meet our legal and record-keeping obligations.
We will not use your information for unrelated marketing without your consent, and we do not sell your personal information to anyone.
3. When we disclose information
We do not disclose your personal information except:
- To trusted service providers who help us operate (for example, our email and form-handling provider, and our website host), who are bound to protect it.
- Where required or authorised by law.
- With your consent.
Some of these providers may store data outside Australia. Where that is the case, we take reasonable steps to ensure your information is handled consistently with the APPs.
4. The register-interest form
When you submit the register-interest form, your details are sent to us by email through a third-party form-handling service so that we can respond to you. By submitting the form you consent to this. We use the information only to contact you about the programme.
5. Keeping your information secure
We take reasonable steps to protect your personal information from misuse, loss, and unauthorised access. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, but we work to safeguard the information you share with us and to retain it only as long as we need it.
6. Accessing and correcting your information
You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Contact us at [CONTACT EMAIL TO BE SUPPLIED] and we will respond within a reasonable time.
7. Children's privacy
Our programmes are for the parents and carers of children. The website and the register-interest form are intended to be used by adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children through this site.
8. Complaints
If you believe we have not handled your personal information in line with this policy or the APPs, please contact us at [CONTACT EMAIL TO BE SUPPLIED]. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The current version will always be available on this page, with the "last updated" date shown above.
